Nepal Youth Society is a voluntary, non-profit organization dedicated to the treatment and rehabilitation program for Drugs and Alcohol related problems. Nepal Youth Society was formed in 2012 by several years of experienced individuals working with different organizations in the area of drug and alcohol treatment and the rehabilitation field. The organization works against drug/Alcohol addiction and helps to create a awareness program through 12 steps in addition to a harm reduction and after care program, and free health camp. The organization has broad objectives. It has been working for over a decade in this field.

Aims of Awareness Campaign against Drug/Alcohol Abuse
- To raise community awareness on the destruction hasin our communities and society at large.
- To discourage irresponsible consumption of Drug/alcoholby all people in society and particularly youth.
- To ensure that there is legislative interventions on thedays and timeframe within which Drug/alcohol outlets cansell alcohol.
- To ensure that there is a legislative intervention on thenumber of year young people are eligible to buyalcohol, with a focus of increasing the number ofyears from 18 to 21.
- To campaign for a complete ban on the advertising ofalcohol within all media channels.
- To call for a stronger regulation and monitoring of drug/alcohol outletsnext to schools and learning institutions.
- To ensure that government at various levels, establishrehabilitation centers for young people who are already addictedto alcohol.
- To form programmatic relationship with civil society formations,such as Non-governmental organizations, community-basedorganizations, religious formations, Trade Unions and non-politicalyouth organizations in the campaign against alcoholabuse.
- To campaign for alternate activities and programs which youngpeople should engage them in, including the introduction ofnew sporting codes in particularly poor communities and publicschools to increase participation in sports amongst young people.
- To form partnerships with government departments that arerelevant to the issues we raise in the campaign, particularly theDepartments of Sports, Arts and Culture, Social development,
Education, health, etc.
The center expects to get support and cooperation from family, society, government and non-government organizations, different political parties, civil society, police, media persons, corporate houses, drug abuse experts, and drug users to make its works against drug addiction more effective and result oriented.
We appeal to all to take drug addiction as a sensitive issue and do following things:
• If you find drug users in your family and neighborhood, kindly inform the reforms center at the earliest
• Talk about problems of drug abuse without any hesitation.
• Share information about drug addiction and measures to control it to others.
• Last but not the least, realizing that prevention is better than cure; we request all of you to provide us necessary comments and suggestions for controlling drug addiction.
